Brother Nathaniel Dicks summoned Brothers in the nearby Aiken, South Carolina area (Edgefield, North Augusta, and Trenton) who were inactive to continue to expand the prestigious name of Omega, thereby resulting in groundwork for a new chapter. Joining Brother Dicks were: Brothers Gene A. Bell, John R. Brightharp, Willie Stewart, William Clyburn, Theodore N. Peoples, and Clifton S. Key. Recognizing that a total of nine (9) Brothers were needed for a charter or six (6) Brothers and three (3) pledgees, the group chose to gather the nine (9) necessary Brothers. Brothers George L. Blalock and Loran Simpkins joined us.

Full of enthusiasm, the group applied for the Charter. A few weeks passed and Brothers Genovesi Mitchell and Willie Frank Wright joined us, truly radiating the light of Omega and two of her cardinal principles, Uplift and Perseverance. Bi-monthly meetings continued, hosted from the home of one Brother to the next.

On April 20, 1975, the District Representative (D.R.), Brother Charles Brooks, informed us that the Supreme Council, at their April 19, 1975 meeting in Washington, DC, had granted us the charter. The Brothers voted on and financed Brother Nathaniel Dicks as their official delegate to the Sixth District Meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina. On Sunday, April 27, 1975, Brother Charles Brooks presented and Brother Nathaniel Dicks received the charter on behalf of Sigma Pi Chapter.

October 24, 1975, the Chapter saw its first Initiation: Brothers Harry S. Bell, Clarence G. Jackson, Octavio Miro (became the Sixth District's 36th District Representative, 2007-2009) and Henry L. Smith, Jr.  From 1975 to 1992, the Chapter membership grew to 35.  By 2001, the Chapter went inactive, but was reactivated on October 1, 2009; the membership was 18 through 2015. Sigma Pi focused on community service, scholarship programs, Talent Hunt competitions, Social Action Programs, Voters Registration, Education and Mobilization efforts; became a Silver Life member of the NAACP; enacted an outstanding and creative Annual Achievement Week Program; adopted a local elementary school; launched a formidable Titans of Omega Male Mentoring Academy, award-winning on both the Sixth District and International levels; and a plethora of noteworthy activities and programs.  As of Fall 2023, the Chapter's membership stands at 92.  The Chapter remains committed to serve the communities of Aiken, Edgefield, Barnwell, Allendale and southern Lexington Counties in South Carolina.
